I was lucky to have another order for the elementary school to make a Welcome cake for their new office aid. I just used flowers after my original idea of making it a "teacher" theme. I didn't cover the cake in fondant, but got to practice my "smooth" frosting. I think the whole cake turned out pretty and I would be so flattered if I got a Welcome Cake like this my first day on the job!What did I learn? You can never make too many flowers on the day you're rolling fondant! Make more than you'll need because you'll probably use them, some will break, fall, get eaten touched or you can put them in a bag for the next project!
